pacific spiral | vancouver, bC
This expressive waterwork at the West One residential building in Yaletown is a merging of sculpture and fountain. Designed by well known Canadian artist and sculptor Judith Schwarz, it brings together the art and science of moving water.
A completely unique water feature, it is comprised of a concrete spiral structure and steel columns that support two seven meter long stainless steel channels crossing over one another to form a grand "X".
Water flows down the spiral into a circular pool, and at the same time cascades from the end of each channel into a grate that is set flush with the stone plaza surface.
