This peaceful water feature is a focal point of Edson Park, on the grounds of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. It offers patients, visitors and employees privacy and calm in a secure enclosed courtyard, while doubling as a venue for outdoor corporate gatherings and activities.
Long, narrow reflective pools surrounded by gardens and integrated seating provide a tranquil space for people to step away for a quiet moment. A unique layered granite wall at one end of the pools serves as the structure for an interesting and attractive waterfall.
The waterfall also acts as an active traffic noise buffer, and provides the soothing sound of moving water, an important feature of this zen-like water garden.
